PROGRAM DEVELOPMENT

Our programs bring positive emotional experiences to children and their families by supporting everyday needs, boosting confidence, and lifting spirits.

As our programs and outreach have expanded over the years, we have categorized our programs into three main areas: School Support, Little Extras and Parental Support.

One of the things that sets Making Kids Count apart is our work with other non-profits. We got our start by working with other groups and helping to bring special extras to their already amazing programs! By working together we develop lasting relationships and reach as many people as possible!

We are always looking to develop new programs to meet the needs of our community. Contact us if you have an idea of how we can help or if you would like more information about any of our programs!

School Support

Making Kids Count believes that every child deserves a well-rounded, quality education and every school needs the proper resources to deliver it. Sadly, when school budgets get cut important enrichment programs are the first to go. MKC recognizes that gaps in school funding mean a gap in essential school programming. Making Kids Count partners with area schools to focus on 5 areas:

(1) Literacy

                1. After-School Tutoring Program
                2. (2) Nutrition
                3. Weekend Back-Pack Program
                4. (3) Classroom Support
                  1. Teacher Wish Lists
                      • Beatitude House School Bags
                      • (4) Recognition of Achievement
                      • Positive Re-enforcement through rewards
                      • Williamson School program (Sponsored through Donnell Ford)
                      • (5) Arts
                      • Kindergarten Art Program
